Excellent properties of PEEK polyetheretherketone resin

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) resin is a special engineering plastic with excellent properties such as high temperature resistance, self-lubrication and high mechanical strength. Compared with other special engineering plastics, polyetheretherketone resin has the following characteristics:

??High temperature resistance: PEEK resin has a high glass transition temperature, which is one of the reasons for its reliable application in applications with heat resistance requirements; the reinforced modified grades have a high deformation temperature under load, and the continuous use temperature is 300 ℃.

      Low temperature resistance: still has excellent toughness, no embrittlement.

??Mechanical properties: PEEK resin is a plastic with a balance of toughness and rigidity. In particular, its excellent fatigue resistance to alternating stress is outstanding among all plastics and is comparable to alloy materials.

??Self-lubricating properties: PEEK resins have outstanding sliding properties among all plastics and are suitable for applications that strictly require low friction coefficient and wear resistance. In particular, carbon fiber, graphite, and polytetrafluoroethylene each account for 10% of the mixed modified sliding grades are grades with excellent sliding properties.

??Chemical resistance (corrosion resistance): PEEK resin has excellent chemical resistance. Among common chemicals, only concentrated sulfuric acid can dissolve or destroy it.

?? Flame Retardancy: PEEK resin is a very stable polymer, 1.45mm thick sample can reach excellent flame retardant standard without any flame retardant.

??Peeling resistance: PEEK resin has very good peeling resistance, so it can be made into thinly coated electric wire or magnet wire, and can be used in harsh conditions.

??Fatigue resistance: PEEK resin has excellent fatigue resistance among all resins.

??Irradiation resistance: It has strong gamma radiation resistance, surpassing polystyrene, which has excellent radiation resistance among general-purpose resins. It can be made into high-performance wires that can maintain good insulation when the gamma irradiation dose reaches 1100Mrad.

??Hydrolysis resistance: PEEK resin and its composite materials are not chemically affected by water and high-pressure water vapor, and products made of this material can still maintain excellent properties when used continuously in high-temperature and high-pressure water.

??Insulation: PEEK has good electrical insulation properties and maintains a high temperature range. Its dielectric loss is also small at high frequencies.

Wear resistance: It has good wear resistance. The wear amount of PEEK pure resin and H10wheel material is 2.7×(10-4th power) g, and the wear amount of PEEK pure resin and S17wheel material is 9.7×( 10 to the power of -4) g.

      Difficult to process: PEEK resin is a super heat-resistant resin, but because it has the characteristics of benzene ring molecular structure, it needs special processing equipment. There are the following processing methods: 1. Injection molding; 2. Extrusion molding; 3. Compression molding ; 4. Blow molding; 5. Melt spinning; 6. Rotation molding; 7. Powder coating.
